My first raft trailer, while a great improvement over inflating, deflating, and lugging around rolled-up boats, was less than Ideal. It had been constructed on a used mobile home axle that was rated in the tens of thousands of pounds and it seemed like the trailer spent as much time in the air as it did on the pavement while going down the road.

Nearly twenty years ago, I replaced that trailer with my current one that is light, strong, and has a torsion axle that rides smoothly. This trailer served as a pattern for my design.

My trailers come complete with a full-size spare tire, rear roller, and tongue jack. The only optional item is a manual winch for an additional $150.

Your new trailer is fabricated on a laser-leveled jig to ensure consistent quality. I use high-quality parts throughout that include:

  • 2,000lb Ultra-Tow Torsion axle with quick lube wheel bearings.
  • high speed hubs w/5 on 4 1/2” wheel studs.
  • ST 185/80R13 6 ply steel belted radial tires including a spare tire & wheel.
  • Full width rear roller for easy loading.
  • Reese swivel jack.
  • LED lights.
  • Side tie-downs.
  • Durable MDO waterproof plywood decking.

Once the welds are complete, the frame is primed and painted before wiring and lights are installed. Add the coupler, safety chains, spare tire, and decking and it’s ready for delivery!
